How to Find Macro Social Work Jobs When You Don’t Know What Job Titles to Search

Hey, Future Macro Social Worker!

(Close your eyes and pretend I am standing on a stage with a microphone and the biggest speakers in the world screaming this...lol!) "The first thing you need in your macro social work job search is not macro social work job titles and a resume!"

I created my proven 3Ps framework to get clear on what I wanted in my macro social work career. Using it helped me land multiple macro social work jobs. Now I teach other aspiring macro social workers the same framework.

The first thing you need in your macro social work job search is to get clarity in these three (3) areas:

  1. Passion: What do you like to do outside of your social work career? Identify that and blend it with your macro social work career. Doing so will ensure that you are doing work you enjoy.

  2. Purpose: What is it all for? Why do you even want a career doing macro work? What is the living career legacy you want to leave behind with employers, the industries you will work within, or the world? You have to know what the objective is.

  3. Population: Who are the individuals, groups, and individuals you want to serve nationally and globally? You need to know because it will fuel your work on the hard days...because they will surely come in macro work. Remember, you are doing work that has never been done before. #Changemaker
